What is a cottage bakery?

A cottage bakery is a small, home-based baking business that operates under Wisconsin’s Cottage Food laws. This means I bake everything in my home kitchen, following strict state regulations to ensure safety and quality.

Are your baked goods inspected by health officials?

Wisconsin Cottage Food laws allow bakers like me to sell non-potentially hazardous baked goods made in a home kitchen, without requiring formal health inspections. I take great care to maintain a clean and safe baking environment at all times.

What types of products can you sell under Wisconsin’s Cottage Food laws?

I can sell non-potentially hazardous baked goods, such as cookies, breads, muffins, and other items that don’t require refrigeration.

How do you calculate pricing of your baked goods?

Each item is priced based on the cost of quality ingredients, labor, and preparation time. We work hard to ensure pricing reflects both the value and care that go into every baked good.

How do I place an order online?

Currently, we accept pre-orders through HotPlate for prearranged pickup locations within Eau Claire, WI. Select “Start an Order” at the top of the page to begin your order.

Do I have to pre-order?

Yes, all orders are prepaid during checkout. Payments are processed through Stripe.  We are unable to accept payment at pick up.

When and where do I pick up my order?

Pickups are on Saturdays, and the exact location will be shared in your order confirmation email. The pickup spot may change from week to week, but it’ll always be somewhere in Eau Claire, WI. We’ll also include location details in the Hotplate event listing so you can decide if that spot works for you before checking out.

What if I miss my pick up time?

Since everything is baked fresh just for you, we're not able to hold onto orders if a pickup is missed. If you're running late, please reach out as soon as you can, we'll always do our best to help!
